Dr. Amber Thompson

Owner/Choreographer/Creative Director

Amber’s Dance Company (ADC)

 

Amber Thompson got her start in Dance at the age of seven years old. Throughout her junior high and high school she began to further her love for dance by attending dance conventions and workshops throughout the south. 

 

During her time at Ole Miss she danced with various dance companies. At the age of 20 she began dance camps in Greenville, Mississippi. The goal was to offer a fun loving environment to all those who attended. She began attending "Drop in Classes" in various styles of dance. 

 

In 2013 Amber began her career as a competitive dance coach, attending competitions like Nuvo, Bravo and Kids Artistic Review. As a choreographer she holds multiple titles in Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop and Contemporary. 

 

She is the Owner, Creative Director and Choreographer for Amber’s Dance Company located in Greenville, Mississippi. The company includes both recreational and company (competitive) tracks. At Amber’s Dance Company the styles of dance include: Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop and Contemporary.  

Amber currently holds a Bachelor's Degree From the University of Mississippi in Liberal Studies, A Master's Degree in Health Administration with a concentration in Informatics, and a Doctoral Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Computer Security. 

 

Amber has had the privilege of taking classes with Emmy Award Winning Travis Wall, Anthony Morigerato (America's Got Talent & So You Think You Can Dance), Ray Leeper (So You Think You Can Dance) Stacey Tookey (So You Think You Can Dance), Will Loftis (Disney & Dancing With The Stars), YouTube Sensation Phil Wright, Mark Meismer, Kenny Wormald (Footloose), Chantel Aguirre (Shaping Sound) and Ivan Koumaev (Background dancer for Justin Timberlake). She has worked with Randi Kemper, Hefa Tuita and Tricia Miranda (Beyoncé & Missy Elliot) 

 

Amber has also taken workshops from the world renowned choreographer, Denise Wall.
